Description
This is an authentic U.S. military M1905 bayonet manufactured for the M1 Garand rifle during World War II. The bayonet features a full 16-inch blade, which is less common to find than the later 10-inch “M1” bayonets. The ricasso is clearly marked with the manufacturer’s code “UFH” (Union Fork and Hoe), the U.S. ordnance flaming bomb emblem, and the production date of “1943.” It comes with its original M3 scabbard, which has the correct fiberglass body and a metal throat stamped with the U.S. ordnance bomb. Both the bayonet and scabbard show signs of age and use, consistent with their history as a piece of military-issued equipment. The black ribbed plastic grips are intact and the latch mechanism is functional. This is an excellent piece for a military arms collector or a historian of the M1 Garand rifle.
