Description

This is an authentic U.S. Army M1880 Sheath Knife from the Indian Wars period. The knife features a single-edged, wide blade and a ribbed wooden handle. The brass guard is clearly stamped “U.S. SPRINGFIELD” on one side and numbered “1716” on the reverse. The knife fits into its original fitted sheath, made of leather with a brass throat piece and belt hanger. The brass hanger and the leather are both marked “Watervliet Arsenal.” The overall length is 14.5 inches. This piece is a sought-after collectible, representing a genuine piece of American military history from the late 19th century.
