Description

An original authentic US military field gear set featuring a classic cold war / Vietnam era folding entrenching tool (E-tool) alongside its matching heavy canvas carrying pouch.

• Entrenching Tool (Shovel):

  • Constructed with a heavy-gauge pointed steel spade head finished in military olive drab paint.

  • Features a ribbed threaded locking collar/nut allowing the blade to be locked straight for standard digging or at a 90-degree angle for use as an entrenching pick/hoe.

  • Solid turned hardwood shaft/handle in original olive drab finish.

• Canvas Carrier Cover (M-1956 / M-1967 Pattern):

  • Heavy-duty olive drab (OD) cotton canvas duck construction reinforced with steel perimeter rivets.

  • Front flap features a secure black heavy-duty lift-the-dot / push snap fastener and an integrated reinforced webbing pocket/sleeve for the M7/M9 bayonet scabbard stud.

  • Retains faint, authentic original “U.S.” ink stamp on the front body.

  • Reverse is fitted with a wide horizontal web strap complete with two original black steel ALICE / belt slide keeper clips for attachment to an M-1956 pistol belt or field pack.

• Condition: Excellent vintage surplus/field-used condition. The shovel shows honest paint wear and light surface rust along the digging edge; the folding hinge and locking collar turn and lock firmly. The canvas carrier is free of major tears, fraying, or dry rot with fully functioning snaps and clips.
