Brief History of Manufacture:

Gebrüder Funke did mark their silver with a 4 leaf clover and a W 4 hallmark. Gebrüder Funke was a German silversmiths' company founded in 1843. The company was located in Pforzheim, Germany. Gebrüder Funke was one of the largest and most successful silversmiths' companies in Germany. The company produced a wide variety of silver objects, including jewelry, tableware, and decorative items. Gebrüder Funke ceased operations in 1979.

The 4 leaf clover and W 4 hallmark was used by Gebrüder Funke from 1933 to 1945. The 4 leaf clover was a popular symbol in Germany during the Nazi era, and the letter "W" stood for "Wehrmacht", which was the German armed forces. The use of the 4 leaf clover and W 4 hallmark by Gebrüder Funke was a way of showing support for the Nazi regime.
