Brief History of Clarence Thomas:

Clarence Thomas was born in Pin Point, Georgia, on June 23, 1948. He is the son of Leola Williams, a single mother who worked as a maid, and Myers Anderson, a man who Thomas never met. Thomas grew up in poverty and experienced racism at an early age. He attended Catholic schools and graduated from Holy Cross High School in Savannah, Georgia, in 1967.

Thomas attended Yale University, where he studied law. He graduated magna cum laude in 1971. After graduating from Yale, Thomas worked as an attorney for the Monsanto Company and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In 1982, Thomas was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit by President Ronald Reagan.

In 1991, Thomas was nominated by President George H.W. Bush to the Supreme Court. Thomas's nomination was controversial, due in part to his conservative views and his opposition to abortion rights. Thomas was narrowly confirmed by the Senate, 52-48.

Thomas has served on the Supreme Court for over 30 years. He is known for his conservative views and his strong belief in originalism, the idea that the Constitution should be interpreted as it was originally written. Thomas has written some of the most controversial opinions in recent Supreme Court history, including the decision in Bush v. Gore, which effectively decided the 2000 presidential election.

Clarence Thomas is a complex and controversial figure. He is a brilliant jurist who has made significant contributions to the Supreme Court. However, he is also a polarizing figure whose views have been criticized by many.
