The tab is constructed from black wool and features an embroidered “Odal” rune in silver/aluminum wire Tresse, indicating the item is for wear by an enlisted man or NCO, or potentially a tailor-made piece for an officer. The reverse shows the expected construction details of period German military insignia. The item shows light wear and age consistent with an original WWII piece of cloth insignia.
