Description
This is a genuine and rare vintage pennant from the Vietnam War, representing the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, more commonly known as the Viet Cong. The pennant is made of a red satin-like material with a large yellow star and the embroidered text “QUYET THANG” and the date 1965. The pennant is fringed with gold tassels.
The Vietnamese phrase “QUYET THANG” translates to “Determination to Win” or simply “Victory,” a powerful and common slogan used by the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces.
Measuring 16 x 14.25 inches, this piece is a remarkable historical artifact. It shows some staining appropriate for its age, which adds to its authenticity. This is a very good, original condition piece for its vintage. It would make an excellent addition to any collection of Vietnam War memorabilia, political history, or military flags and banners.
