Description
This is an authentic vintage Camillus N.Y. U.S. military pilot survival knife, clearly dated “2-1972” on the pommel. It features a robust 5-inch blade with a partial serrated top edge, and measures 9 1/2 inches in overall length. The knife has a classic stacked leather handle, which shows an attractive aged patina and minor wear consistent with its vintage. The hexagonal pommel, which also serves as a hammer end, is present and shows some signs of use and light oxidation. The crossguard is solid.
The blade has a darkened finish, showing some areas of surface discoloration and a faint bluish/green tint, likely from age and previous storage or light use. The edge appears to be in good condition.
Included is its original tan leather sheath, which is well-constructed with rivets and heavy stitching. The sheath features a secure snap-closure strap for the knife handle and a separate pouch on the front designed to hold a sharpening stone (the stone itself is included, as indicated by the “knife sharpener in sheath” detail). The leather sheath shows minor scuffs and marks but is overall in solid condition, ready to be carried or displayed.
