Wayne Williams was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 12, 1957. He was raised in a poor neighborhood, and his father was frequently absent. Williams began to have behavioral problems at a young age, and he was eventually diagnosed with schizophrenia.

In 1979, Williams began a killing spree in Atlanta. He would lure young boys into his van and then strangle them. Williams was eventually caught and arrested in 1981. He was convicted of two murders and sentenced to life in prison.

Williams has always maintained his innocence, and there is some evidence to suggest that he may not have been the only killer involved in the Atlanta child murders. However, Williams remains in prison today, and he is eligible for parole in 2037.
